Rajeev Talwar stands tall with extensive experience (spread over 43 years) in the real-estate sector in significant decision-making roles, both in the government and private sectors. Presently, he is the CEO of DLF Limited, India’s largest Real Estate company. His other outstanding involvements include functioning as the Immediate Past President of PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry, National Apex Chamber, Chairman of NAREDCO (National Real Estate Development Council) and Chairman, WTTCII (World Travel & Tourim Council, India Initiative). In the year 1978, he was selected for the Indian Administrative Service. During his tenure as an IAS officer from 1978 to 2006, he held many important and critical positions in the Central & State Governments as well as Union Territories.

At WADE ASIA 2019, Rajeev Talwar’s powerful presentation brought to the fore many crucial questions that are plaguing the industry and finding solutions to which can help building a stronger economy. India is standing at the crossroads of witnessing huge development in the real-estate sector and his words, “The kind of construction that is required for a 10-12 trillion dollar economy, which India is aiming to become, should keep all architects, designers and engineers busy. The kind of infrastructure that is required, the kind of cities which are required, will there be any dearth for work here? Everyone talks of a slowdown but the truth is that, India is at that inflection point where none of us are too sure what is going to be the future in the next 3 decades,” reinforced the point. It was a highly enriching session wherein Mr Talwar urged the community to be more technology & process oriented to achieve more with less. Also, collaboration between the private and the government sectors is a necessity for better projects and a robust delivery system, we completely agree with him on this.
