An engineer, traveller, and always a photographer. Dolly’s encounter with art began with colours before progressing to photography. Since graduating from the Light and Life Academy, she has earned numerous international juried awards, published in print, and translated her photography to lifestyle and home accessories. Based in Pune,
Dolly has been photographing interior-architecture, industrial, and products for nearly a decade. Having mastered the art of delivering ‘that perfect shot’, Dolly’s pan-India clients highly appreciate her for the ability to skirt around the edge of her comfort zone and create impacting visuals. Her bold perception speaks through macro photography, panoramic views, and 360-degree virtual tours.
What is good art according to you?
Art that can inspire to build a better world, at the same time, art that can bring a change, no matter how small, in people’s lives, or art that can make you smile is good art. But I think great art touches the mind, heart or soul of the viewer.
Can art play a role in impacting positive social change? How would you contribute to WADE ASIA through art?
Art has been central to social change since time immemorial, be it through engaging with communities, improving lives or even boosting economic growth.
Women have always expressed themselves better through art and through its storytelling. It is the unbiased and pure nature of art that will unquestioningly keep impacting social change.
Photography is a visual medium, hence it is one of the most effective art forms to connect with the people, bring awareness and social changes. Photo documentary displayed in public spaces is a very good example to create awareness regarding social issues. With the latest printing technologies and digital media, it has become very accessible to reach various mediums and reach out in numbers. I can contribute to WADE ASIA by conducting workshops on art an by creating art for visitors to impact social change.

How important it is to network for professionals? Did WADE help you with this? How?
Successful artists need to know the right art, skills, and the right people. It’s always good to meet and network with like and right-minded people. And yes, WADE is providing a wonderful platform for bringing all together.
What is your best takeaway from WADE?
Masterclasses and panel discussions to open your mind to new possibilities and thought processes.
Any suggestion for the future:
I would love to see project panels displayed in a bigger and more dedicated way. This will enable everyone to see all different projects and share knowledge.
