What role can art play in creating a positive social impact about causes related to women? How would you contribute to WADE ASIA through art?

The printed media has the power to reach across to a wide audience through its circulation. Thought provoking articles printed with the right amount of importance and weightage could create a positive impact by directly or indirectly addressing issues relating to women. In this context art could be multi-fold in its manifestation. Visual art, literature, articles on movies, poetry, etc. on relevant subjects could enthuse interest towards topics which are important. I would like to contribute to WADE ASIA by writing on art/ design and responding to queries related to the subject.

What are the three factors you respond to while deciding about the colour theme of a project?

The geographical context becomes the most important factor while deciding on the architectural typology and the resultant colour theme for a project. The overall aesthetical impact is decided on the basis of the use of the space under consideration and its location. The material palette is subsequently decided on the basis of various factors including the end use, availability and budget.

As a WADE Woman, which role would you take up?

WADE gives every participant a chance to interact with fellow professionals at a national level. Exchange of ideas in design becomes the core aspect of this conference. Being a WADE winner gives me a chance to propagate

“WADE brings together very powerful women of the industry. As a young designer, I feel that it broadens the possibilities and helps us push harder to achieve goals with such strong examples in mind.”

The idea of WADE across the entire design fraternity with an aim to connect across all aspects of arts and influence thought provoking interactions.

Your opinion on WADE ASIA and its objectives.

WADE ASIA is a wonderful attempt to acknowledge the talent across the diverse streams of the design field. It is a great way to socialize with peers, and exchange thoughts and ideas. One gets to learn much from the experienced designers through such interactions.

What is good art according to you?

Art is an expression. It is a medium to express a thought and hence any form of art is sensitive. It has the power to move emotions and generate curiosity. Curiosity, which heightens the senses leaving a lasting impact, creating a lasting thought. And as I understand it, good art has the power to invoke reactions culminating in social movements.
