Currently the Principal Architect at KDA, Deepali Meni has successfully led several Architecture and Interior Design projects, leaving a mark in high-end residential and office interiors. She believes that designs are impressions for life and so her attempt is to create an environment that is rich in ergonomic comfort having beautifully crafted details and that the success of any design project comes from a relationship of trust and collaboration with the clients and the team. At KDA, the intention is to make simple, well-articulated spaces that have enduring meaning that can elevate the quality of life of the users.

Do you think architecture has the power to build better communities? How?
Yes, architecture gains its power from being replete with ethical meaning which can be silently promoted through the work. For e.g. making good buildings begins with getting the small details right. It is by making thoughtful designs one finds balance between form, function and emotion as well. A designer’s responsibility is not only towards the clients but also towards the end user’s comfort and convenience, making careful choices of eco-friendly materials, utilising local craftsmen and most importantly respecting the resources.
How important it is to network for women as professionals?
Networking with fellow comrades is an important aspect of each and every profession. WADE ASIA was a wonderful opportunity for the same to bond.
As a WADE Woman & WADE Winner, how would you contribute towards the causes?
As a WADE woman I would like to inspire and empower women to follow their heart and live a life of happiness and complete satisfaction.
Your opinion on WADE ASIA and its objectives.
WADE Asia is a sincere attempt to bind up all the creative women designers on a common platform. It was an immense pleasure to be part of this event and meet women peers. The amount of exposure and recognition that one receives at such a platform is a lifetime investment. WADE Asia has put up a great event coupled up with details and fantastic hospitality.
WADE is ensuring the visibility of women led-projects and their works. It also inspires many individuals who want to get back to their profession or re-start.
